This is a company that seems to be doing most things right, and the majority of their food products contain no yeast extract or hidden sources of msg. I say we encourage Amy's to drop yeast extract as an ingredient and stick with 100% pure herbs and spices for ALL its food products. Will you join me in letting Amy's know that we don't want yeast extract in our organic food? If so, post a comment at the Amy's Kitchen website and let them know you don't want this processed taste enhancer substance in your food!

Cleanse your colon regularly to prevent the swelling of the mucus membranes in the gastrointestinal tract caused by consumption of msg. Now you know how to avoid the most damaging intestinal toxins from food, but you still need to learn how to prepare fresh, delicious, organic food. For example, should you eat organic foods as a raw salad or lightly cook them for a few minutes along with a pasta dish? Does it really matter? Absolutely! Cooking Food the Wrong Way! Anti-catarrhal Factors: Any substance which aids in removing mucous and reducing inflammation of the mucous membranes.
These toxins include genetically modified foods, pesticides (used to treat the crops), meat and dairy, soy, white flour, table salt, msg (Monosodium Glutamate), microwaved foods, refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, caffeinated drinks (colas, coffee, etc.), and alcohol. At the end of each category, I provide you with a quick reference chart for the easiest way to eliminate or reduce your daily exposure to these toxins. Remember, preventing toxins from entering your body is the 126 2 c 0 u H z z 3 ¦-— < Synthesize: To artificially create something by combining individual elements.
For example, you might start by eliminating microwaved food and white flour during week 1 and soy and msg in week 2. Set realistic goals and be patient and I will show you how to achieve optimal health. Openly consider the foods you put into your body. Products containing lecithin, msg, or "natural flavors" How to Eliminate Toxins from Soy (contd.) almost always contain soy. Avoiding processed foods altogether is a good way to help keep hidden soy (and other ingredients) out of your diet. How Does White Flour Cause a Toxic Colon? White flour is a common ingredient made from grains of wheat. Aside from casein, you'll also find that many so-called "natural" food products contain msg in the form of yeast extract, another deceptive ingredient used in many natural foods. These include all the popular "meatless" brands you see at the health food stores. It's virtually impossible to find a vegetarian burger that doesn't contain msg in one form or another. So much for the "natural" claim, huh? Folks, it's not just the big mainstream food companies that are deceptive in their marketing.

Fitzgerald: We looked at some of the studies done in the later part of 2005, examining the synergistic reactions between aspartame -- the synthetic sweetener that is found in thousands of products now -- and msg, along with two common food colorings. This was a study done in England at a university in the later part of 2005. The result was found that when msg, aspartame and these two food colorings were mixed together, they create a synergy that kills nerve cells. It causes neurological damage.

Many "natural" foods contain questionable taste additives like yeast extract

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

Yeast extract was one of the first replacements for msg -- it has the same effect on taste, and it contains a concentration of free glutamic acid, just like msg. The difference is that it doesn't look as bad on the label, and food manufacturers can actually claim that it's all-natural. You'll see yeast extract in many products, even so-called natural products like veggie burgers. But now that the word is getting out about yeast extract, food companies are switching to yet another hidden form of a chemical taste enhancer.
If you're looking for hidden forms of msg chemicals on food labels, look for yeast extract and torula yeast, and anything that is hydrolyzed or autolyzed. Autolyzed or hydrolyzed vegetable proteins are also hidden sources of msg, according to Dr. Russell Blaylock, author of "Excitotoxins," and perhaps the world's top expert on neurotoxic substances found in the food supply.
